Apples
6 - Large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced1 tsp - Ground cinnamon
1 tsp - Ground nutmeg
1/4 cup - Light brown sugar
Topping
1 box - Betty Crocker gluten free yellow cake mix1/4 cup - Chopped walnuts
1/2 cup - Light margarine or butter, softened
1 tsp - Ground cinnamon
1 - Egg, beat
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the apples evenly onto an ungreased 13x9 inch pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, nuts, and butter. With a fork or pastry blender, cut the butter until crumbly. Add the cinnamon and egg. Mix well.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over apples, evenly. Then sprinkle the cake mix over the apples, evenly.
- Bake about 45 minutes or until topping is light brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
