Apple Cobbler - Gluten Free


Makes 8 Servings

Apples

6 - Large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1 tsp - Ground cinnamon
1 tsp - Ground nutmeg
1/4 cup - Light brown sugar

Topping

1 box - Betty Crocker gluten free yellow cake mix
1/4 cup - Chopped walnuts
1/2 cup - Light margarine or butter, softened
1 tsp - Ground cinnamon
1 - Egg, beat

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  1. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the apples evenly onto an ungreased 13x9 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, nuts, and butter.  With a fork or pastry blender, cut the butter until crumbly.  Add the cinnamon and egg. Mix well.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar over apples, evenly. Then sprinkle the cake mix over the apples, evenly.
  4. Bake about 45 minutes or until topping is light brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
